Is “Defund The Police” A Trick To Get Black People To Ask For Something We Don’t Want?

For many years, black people have been asking for police to stop brutalizing and killing our people and for any officer who does to be punished and to lose their jobs.

For many years, many cops have gotten away with killing unarmed people. They never get sent to prison and if they do, they get very small sentences. They get PAID leave and GoFundMes set up for them like they’re victims.

As a result, our people have been protesting and rioting because they won’t listen to us. They won’t listen to us telling them to stop peacefully and they’re not listening to us telling them to stop when we riot. So what else is left to do?

Our people created the Black Lives Matter slogan and organization to fight back against this treatment. But recently, another slogan has risen to popularity—Defund The Police.

A lot of people on social media acted like they didn’t know what Defund The Police meant, just like they acted like they didn’t know what Black Lives Matter meant. But Defund The Police means lowering the funds that go to the police department and putting them towards other things, like housing and education.

My issue with Defund The Police is that it’s not what we’re asking for. We’re asking for justice for the unarmed black people that they kill. We’re asking for any police officer to be locked up for a good amount of time if they do that. We’re asking for officers to lose their jobs if they do that. We’re asking for officers to not get paid if they do that.

The government can “defund” the police all they want, but it’s not going to stop the police from brutalizing and murdering unarmed people. I remember so many politicians this year talking about how much they were going to punish people who “looted and burned” at protests against the police. But I didn’t hear any of them talk about what they were going to do about these abusive and murdering cops.

Some people cheered and were happy about Kyle Rittenhouse shooting three people at a protest in Kenosha, Wisconsin. These people were more mad at people protesting against the cops than they were mad at cops murdering people. If the cops stopped murdering people, the protests will stop, but they don’t want to think about that.

I believe the media or whoever it is, is trying to get people to support Defund The Police to distract us from asking for justice and for these cops to be punished. I feel like Defund The Police is a slap in the face to us. They’re basically telling us they’re going to do NOTHING about these murderous cops. They want us to be happy with the police being “defunded” instead. They’re going to continue getting away with killing unarmed people. So, I think we need to be careful about supporting that.

We didn’t ask for police to be “defunded”. We asked for justice! Keep asking for justice! Don’t let them derail us!

Are People Backwards About Protesting?

I’m seeing all these people protesting over being told to wear masks. Protesting over being told to stay home to help slow the spread of Coronavirus. Fighting and arguing in stores because of mask rules. I hear some of these people say that they refuse to wear a mask because they refuse to “let the government tell them what to do” or they “don’t want to be a sheep”. I just can’t get over how stupid all of this looks to me.

The government tells you to send your kids to school everyday. You complain about how schools teach you nothing that you can use in your everyday life. You complain about how teachers and other school staff treated you when you were in school. But you don’t protest about that. You continue to take your kids there everyday.

The government tells you that you have to work 8+ hour shifts on jobs that you hate to make enough money to take care of yourself and/or your family. You complain about how shitty the bosses and supervisors are. You complain about how hard or stressful the work is. You complain about how the jobs pay you peanuts. But you still go to them everyday. And you don’t protest.

The government tells you that you have to pay for life insurance, car insurance, and health insurance. You complain about how all these things are scams. You complain about how much all these things cost. But you still pay for them anyway. And you don’t protest.

The government allows garbage to be promoted to you and your children through radio and television. You complain about how everything on TV and radio is about sex, drugs, and violence. You complain about how the women in these industries can only succeed if they’re hypersexualized. But you continue to watch and listen to it everyday. And you allow your kids to watch and listen to it too. And you don’t protest.

The government tells you that you have to vote for politicians to govern over you every four years. You complain about how these politicians are horrible and do nothing for you. You complain about how the government is constantly giving you the choice between bad or worst in every election. But you continue to vote anyway. And you don’t protest.

The government tells you that you have to pay taxes every year. You complain about how high the taxes are. You complain about how the government wastes your taxes on things that don’t benefit you, like bombing innocent people in other countries. But you continue to pay taxes every year. And you don’t protest.

You talk about how the government telling you to wear a mask and stay home during a pandemic is the government “trying to control you”, but NEWS FLASH! The government has been controlling you YOUR WHOLE LIFE! You’ve been a sheep YOUR WHOLE LIFE! And you’ve done absolutely NOTHING about it. But you WILL get up and protest and throw a fit and fight over a damn mask. I don’t get it!

All these things all of us complain about the government doing to us. Why don’t we ever protest the government? Why do some people protest over the most trivial things? Is it fear?

I believe that these people actually do want to protest against the government, but they’re too afraid to protest over big issues. They’re too afraid to acknowledge and address huge issues. So they pick trivial issues to protest about. It’s sad and it sucks. This backwards protesting needs to go!
